ABOUT WOMEN EMPOWERMENT CELL:
Women Empowerment Cell of Government Arts and Science College, Idappadi
was constituted in the year 2018 for the welfare of the women students.
Dr. P. Rajini is designated as Coordinator and Dr. N. Valarmathi, as the Member of the Cell. The main focus of this cell is to enhance and empower the girl students who almost belong to the rural background.It also strives to bring out an exponential growth in education, extra-curricular activities and health. To make the students more competent, the cell organises several programmes with renowned speakers. In order to establish astrength in the minds of the women, a special lecture onthe title ‘Empowering Women’ by an eminent nutritionist Dr.BrindaSreeSudarsan was given on 10th October 2018.
Dr.BrindasreeSudarsan delivered her speech by giving importance to the hygiene of the girls and the related nutritious food. She also has motivated the girls to strengthen their health in order to succeed in their life. She pinpointed that health and education are the two sides of the coin.
Dr. R. Lavanya, BE., MBA., PhD., Women Entrepreneur delivered a lecture on ‘Women Entreneurship’ on 8th March 2020 motivated the girls to become a successful Entrepreneurs. She gave some guidelines on how to prepare themselves as a business woman.
Followed with this a Special Address on‘Legal Awareness among Women’ was given by Hon’ble Tmt. M. MekalaMythili, B.A., B.L., Chairman Subordinate Judge, Sankari.to instil the awareness on legal aspects. Hon’ble Tmt. M. Bakkiyam, B.A., B.L.,District Munsif, Sankari.Hon’ble Tmt. S. Uma Maheshwari, B.A., L.L.M., Judicial Magistrate – II, Sankari.Hon’ble Thiru. T. Sundarrajan, B.A., B.L., Judicial Magistrate – I, Sankari.Hon’ble Tmt. T. Malathi, B.Sc., B.L., District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Idappadi felicitated the fuction.
